Scholarship in Flanders, Belgium: Training and Master’s Programmes
VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from developing countries so that they can follow a master’s or training programme in Flanders, Belgium. These scholarships cover all related expenses. Every year, VLIR-UOS awards up to 180 scholarships to first-year master’s students and 70 scholarships to training participants.
Who is eligible?
All programmes are specifically designed for people in positions of responsibility in civil society (e.g. universities, schools, NGOs, local communities, governments).
The target group for master’s programmes comprises students from developing countries, although those from other countries are also welcome. Training programmes are tailored to people from developing countries with a certain degree of professional experience.
What programmes are available?
The master’s programmes, lasting one or two academic years, focus on specific problems of developing countries. These are designed to enable graduates to share and apply acquired knowledge in the home institution and country.
In the shorter training programmes, lasting one to four months, the focus is on transferring skills rather thant knowledge, thus creating opportunities for cooperation and networking.
Only the master’s and training programmes listed in this leaflet are eligible for funding. All programme’s are taught in English.
